Xio’s deep, dark secret. Oooooo…

Hello.

Get in my closet!

My name is Xio and…

I am obsessed with Alexander McQueen. No, not the man, his fashion house. (Though he was a pretty incredible person and left us far too soon.)

Each season, I scour the web for what’s new from AMQ and I am never, ever disappointed. There are some signature pieces that I have filed away as “if I ever win the lottery.” Not that I would ever wear any of AMQ’s gorgeous creations – I’m a t-shirt and jeans kinda girl and wasn’t gifted with a svelt physique – but some of them really are works of wearable art. Heck, I’d buy one just to hang on the wall.

Warning: what follows is a tiny taste of my photo collection.

The house is run by Sarah Burton and she seems determined to push AMQ to be even more fashion-forward than it already is. This is the same woman that designed Kate Middleton’s wedding gown. Yes, that Kate Middleton.

Understated but still fashion-forward, for a Royal.

Some styles are haute couture, only meant for the runway.
They’re inspirational.

Others are more “off the rack” pieces that almost anyone could rock.
AMQ often informs my characters’ fashion choices.

What Alexander McQueen do with colour, texture and structure is so beyond everyone else. They continue to amaze me year after year.

I’m not alone in this. Quite a few celebrities are in love with them as well.

AMQ designs have been spotted on Sarah Jessica Parker, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Blake Lively, Salma Hayek, Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Emma Stone…the list is endless and even includes the First Lady.

And then there are the shoes. The shoes!! Gaga is quite fond of those babies.

So…yeah…now you know. Now excuse me while I go ogle the Spring 2015 collection. Again. 😉

Great post! I’m also a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, but part of me would love to be dressed in what comes down the runways during Fashion Week. 🙂

  2. So exquisite. I spend far too long ogling the photos. I don’t have the lifestyle for this kind of couture, but I love it

  3. Girl, I am so on your team on this one. He’s freaking amazing. As a fashion design graduate, I am also all over the couture. It’s as you said, works of wearable art. He was gone too soon, that’s for sure!

  4. They’re lovely, Xio. I could never wear them. I stray to t-shirts and jeans too (or yoga pants), but they’re still works of art.
